Food Locker Node 48

The locker is a state machine, not just a box.

The May 2026 design work treated lockers as part of the cold-chain process. Frozen product can remain frozen, move to controlled chilled thawing, or be staged for appropriate cooking and pickup. The chilled compartment can double as the controlled-thaw chamber and collection point.

Frozen inventory ≈ −18°C → controlled transfer → refrigerated thaw/pickup 0–5°C → cooking or chilled pickup. Recovered heat from refrigeration/server systems is reserved for water or technical heat uses, not food warming.
